1. Who you’re buying from
This site is operated by Woodhead Workshop. Woodhead Workshop is a New Zealand sole trader, owned and run by Charlotte. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Woodhead Workshop. “You” means the customer.

2. Prices, currency and GST
- All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD).
- We are not GST registered, so no GST is added to your order and we don’t issue GST invoices. The price shown is the price you pay, plus shipping where it applies.
- We can change prices at any time. We never change the price of an order you have placed, or of a quote we have sent you that is still valid.
- If a price is obviously wrong, we will contact you before charging anything. A decimal point in the wrong place is one example. You can then confirm at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.
3. Orders
An order becomes a contract when we confirm it by email. Until then, we can decline an order. For example, we may decline if we can’t get the material, if the job isn’t one we can do well or if what’s being asked for infringes someone else’s rights.
Most items are made to order, so please check your order confirmation carefully. If you spot a mistake, tell us straight away. We will correct it if we have not started making your order.
4. Payment
- Everything in our catalogue is paid in full at checkout at the price shown. That includes custom pieces made from your photos, such as wedding cake toppers and custom figures.
- Custom branding means items made with your company’s branding. It is quoted in writing. Quotes are valid for 14 days. A 50% deposit confirms the booking, and the balance is due before we dispatch.
- The deposit on custom branding covers the production files and prototype we make at the start. It is generally not refundable once that work has started. If we have not started, we will refund the deposit.
5. Custom work
- After you order a custom piece, you upload your photos in your account. If your photos can’t support a good likeness, we will tell you before we start modelling and refund you in full, or let you send better photos if you prefer.
- You approve a preview before anything is made. The preview may be an image or 3D view of the model, a proof or a sample. Production of the final piece does not start until you have said yes.
- If you supply a design, a logo or a photo, you confirm that you own it or have the right to use it. You also cover us for any claim that says otherwise.
- We will not reproduce third-party characters, franchises, trademarks or fan art without documented permission. We ask you to confirm this on every job, and we keep a record of your answer.
- Small differences between the preview and the finished piece are normal. Colour on a screen is not the same as colour in the finished piece, and a picture of a 3D object never looks quite like the object itself.
- Production takes 6 to 8 weeks from the day you approve the preview, plus delivery. If you have a date to meet, tell us when you order and we will say straight away if it is too close.
- We reserve the right to decline a job. If we do, we will tell you early and refund anything you have paid.
6. Designs and intellectual property
Our own models, artwork, photographs and site content remain ours. Buying a finished piece doesn’t give you the model or a licence to reproduce it, so please don’t scan, copy or resell our designs.
Your artwork stays yours. We use it only to make your order, and we will not put your custom work in our portfolio or on social media without asking you first.
7. Product descriptions and photos
We photograph the actual items we make without heavy retouching. Because everything is made to order and finished by hand, expect small differences between the photo and the piece you receive. These can include fine surface texture or slight colour differences between batches of material. We check every piece before it is sent, and we resolve anything that does not meet our standard before dispatch.
Our products are decorative pieces and desk objects. They contain small parts and are not children’s toys.
Cake toppers and figures are keepsakes, not made for contact with food. Stand them on a small cake card rather than directly on icing, and take them off before the cake is cut.
8. Your rights as a consumer
If you buy as a consumer in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 apply. Nothing in these terms limits, excludes or modifies your rights under them. If anything here conflicts with those Acts, those Acts take priority.
If you are buying for a business and using the goods for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act may not apply to your purchase. Please contact us and we will set out clearly what we are agreeing to.

9. Liability
Subject to section 8 above and to your rights under New Zealand consumer law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect losses such as a missed deadline, a disappointed recipient or a delay caused by the courier.
10. Things outside our control
Sometimes events outside our control delay an order. Examples are equipment failure, materials going out of stock, courier disruption or a power cut. If this happens, we will tell you as soon as we know and give you a new date. If you would rather not wait, we will refund you in full.
11. Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update this page. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published when you placed it, and the date at the top will always show when this page last changed.
